LEADERSHIP

THOMAS WEHINGER
Managing Partner

Thomas Wehinger is the Founder of Alpina Equity and brings extensive experience in private equity, cross-border transactions, and corporate law. Prior to founding Alpina Equity, he served as General Counsel and a member of the leadership team at a multi-billion-dollar private equity firm based in Beverly Hills, where he oversaw legal matters at both the firm and portfolio-company levels across more than 40 businesses. During his tenure, he played a central role in the execution of more than 30 acquisitions and supported the firm’s domestic and international growth.

Wehinger began his legal career in the M&A practice of Walder Wyss in Zurich before joining the finance practice of Latham & Watkins in Los Angeles. 

A native of Switzerland and a First Lieutenant in the Swiss Armed Forces, he brings a disciplined, strategic, and international perspective to investing, transaction execution, and operational value creation.

MICHAEL MARTIN
Managing Partner

Michael Marin has more than a decade of experience in private equity and investment banking, with a focus on complex cross-border M&A transactions, corporate carve-outs, and special situations investments across North America and Europe. Prior to joining Alpina Equity, he served as a Director at a Los Angeles-based private equity firm, where he evaluated and executed investments across the industrial, consumer, retail, and technology sectors.

Throughout his career, he has worked closely with management teams and other stakeholders on transaction structuring, strategic initiatives, operational improvement, and long-term value creation.

He began his career in investment banking after being selected by the Oakland Athletics in the Major League Baseball Draft where he played professionally for three years. Martin holds a B.A. in Economics from Harvard University.
